Cinemas around Leicester

Phoenix Cinema and Art Centre

4 Midland St, Leicester LE1 1TG, UK – 0116 242 2800

The staff are friendly and they make good coffee. The sandwiches are a little expensive and can be a bit hit and miss at times. The hot food looks nice though (even though I haven't tried it) and the bar is well stocked with lots of different options.

This is a cinema with a difference. The cafe and art interests with which the venue is identified has made it a cool hang out place for people with diverse interests. The restaurant has grown by leaps and bounds. Yesterday, I tucked into a spicy Thai vegetarian dish which at £6 for a bowl full was enough to satiate my hunger. Fresh vegetables were served with wholegrain rice. In fact I liked it so much I went back today. They were out of rice but I was happy to try out couscous in place of the rice. I have not had couscous before to my mind and it was a good change from rice. I would say I am a little biased in favour of Phoenix. I have been a frequent visitor over the years. I would recommend it to anyone to try out the many things on offer.

Piccadilly Cinema

Green Ln Rd, Evington, Leicester LE5 3TH, UK – 0116 251 8880

Me and my family have been visiting the cinema for years and we feel it has always been a great experience and the staff are very helpful. We feel that we have had a very positive, family atmosphere every time we have gone to the cinema. Never had an issue and is completely value for money

A few years ago when me and my friends were student we had come across this cinema and we still regular customers till today. The cinema...great! We love the vibe, we love the prices and love the quality for the price we are getting. 2 tickets for £7 every Wednesday for all Hindi and English films! You can't go wrong!

Theatres for Leicester

Curve Theatre

60 Rutland St, Leicester LE1 1SB, UK – 0116 242 3560

Love the Curve. Nice facilities and good views from all seats I've sat in. Just wish that tickets didn't sell out so fast but shows just how in demand the productions put on there really are! They are reasonably priced and the service is always great.

Went to Crazy For You. Great night. As you would expect with a Gershwin show, packed with some great songs, some of which have become classics of the great American Songbook. A rework of the 1930's show Girl Crazy, but with more Gershwin songs added. Another great night out at Curve.

The Little Theatre

Dover St, Leicester LE1 6PW, UK – 0116 255 1302

This is a great theatre. I went to see a production of ' Wierd Sisters ' in the studio. This only seats a around 50 people, so it quite intermate. The plate it's self was at very close quarters, as I was sat on the front row but did not detract from the performance. There is a bar which sells a good range of drinks. And you can even order your interval drinks too. There is a pay car park across the road. Not sure of the charges. I would highly recommend to give a production at The Little Theatre a go, it's well worth the money.

I always have a fantastic time when I go here. The shows are brilliant. I highly recommend going 😀😀

The Y - Theatre

7 East St, City Centre, Leicester LE1 6EY, UK – 0116 255 6507

Enjoyed time here however has lost its spark now with new owners, place is clean, tidy and inviting, toilet were good size in males and didn't smell. The actual show felt rushed however had humour for both adults and children. I think with time it could improve. The seating area in bar is nice and spacious.

A lovely quaint theatre in the city centre 200 meters opposite Premier Inn which has free car parking for Hotel guests.
